Methods for choosing a pigment vary from artist to artist however, one commonly used tool is color swatching, which involves placing a small amount of pigment on your client's skin. But what exactly are you looking for? Nneka Gares-Portal shares her color swatching method and explains how lighting could be altering your pigment perspective!
Nneka is the owner of @colorlabnyc. She has spent the last several years sharpening her esthetics skills and laser focusing on the semi-permanent market; specifically Microblading and Ombre Brows. With so many women looking to jump into the semi-permanent makeup industry as a way to leave their desk jobs behind, Nneka found they were being lured into trainings that were subpar and not preparing students for real life application. Her philosophy is: "provide the foundation and the tools need to get the work done right the first time."
